A petition is a formal written document containing a list of signatures from ACT residents to members of the Legislative Assembly seeking the redress of a grievance. Any citizen or group of citizens of the ACT can submit a petition asking for an action to be taken by the Assembly.
From July 2011, the Government has taken a policy decision to undertake a "proactive" release of Cabinet information. This initiative forms part of the Government's wider open government agenda, designed to make government information more readily available to the community. Until the establishment of an ACT Open Government website the Summary of Cabinet Outcomes will be available through this website.
