Canberra Citizen of the Year

ACT Honour Walk

The Canberra Citizen of the Year Award recognises citizens who have made a major contribution to the community. The award is significant - it recognises the efforts of individuals in the community and helps to promote a sense of civic pride. The award was first introduced in 1989, continuing a tradition started by The Canberra Times some years prior to self-government.

2024 Canberra Citizen of the Year

Hannah Andrevski

Hannah Andrevksi

Ms Hannah Andresvki is recognised for her outstanding commitment to families in need within the Canberra community through her work at Roundabout Canberra.

Roundabout Canberra provides essential baby and children’s items to families in need in the Canberra region. Ms Andrevski founded Roundabout Canberra in 2018 after trying to find a service where she could donate her own children’s second-hand items to local families in need.

Roundabout Canberra keep dignity at the forefront of their charitable efforts and believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. By prioritising and championing dignity when providing support to families in need, they contribute to a more compassionate and supportive community, as well as ensuring families receive the material items they need.

Less than three months into 2024, Roundabout Canberra have already helped over 750 children and gifted more than 3000 items.

Ms Andresvki was a 2019 Westfield Local Hero, a nominee for the 2020 ACT Local Hero award, and won the Galent Management Consulting Profound Influence Award at the 2019 Volunteering Awards, Canberra Region.
