Winter is almost upon us and so is the flu season.

Now is the time to start thinking about a flu vaccination. It helps protect you, your family and the wider community. Check with your GP, local pharmacist, or workplace to enquire about how you can book your vaccination now.

The influenza vaccine is free under the National Immunisation Program for the following people:

  • 65 years of age and over,
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 15 years and over,
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 6 months to less than 5 years,
  • Pregnant women, and
  • Anyone aged six months and over who has a chronic condition placing them at increased risk of complications from influenza.

For more information on immunisation, contact the Immunisation Information Line on 6205 2300, visit health.act.gov.au or email immunisation@act.gov.au
