All board members were present for the meeting.

Priorities

The board discussed the following priorities:

  1. negotiations with the Commonwealth regarding the proposed lake reclamation to support the construction of the West Basin waterfront
  2. the realignment of Parkes Way to support improved active travel connections and urban design outcomes between the city and Lake Burley Griffin
  3. the authority’s city activation strategy
  4. the City Centre Marketing Improvements Levy, which will transfer to government from 1 January 2018
  5. responding to the government’s 2017 Statement of Expectations , including priority projects such as the revitalisation of the Sydney and Melbourne Buildings and the City Bus Interchange.

Board members declared any potential conflicts of interest.

Financial report

The board received the monthly financial report for July 2017.

Meeting with the ACT Chief Minister, Andrew Barr MLA

The board welcomed the opportunity to meet with the Chief Minister over lunch to discuss the government’s vision and expectations for the City Renewal Precinct.
