What is the Heart + Soul: rediscover your City campaign?

This marketing campaign is part of the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy marketing program.

The goal of the campaign is to encourage Canberrans to get out and rediscover their city - to visit the places they know and love and be open to exploring and finding new places and reconnecting with people.

The campaign features local business ‘heroes’, familiar faces that members of the Canberra community will identify and connect with.

We want locals to support Canberra businesses by spending locally and influencing their friends and family to do the same.

How will these goals be achieved?

Over three months, a series of videos, blogs and social media posts will be shared via the City Renewal Authority’s digital marketing channels and other digital channels. Signage will be installed on key roads and bike paths that lead to the City, to create awareness of the campaign and encourage locals to think about the city as a destination to visit.

The written blog posts, accompanied by visual imagery and videos share the stories of a variety of Canberra city businesses and their owners who have been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis, and are now open and ready to welcome visitors.

How can you get involved?

As a business in the city we encourage you to join us in promoting the city and it’s community. The more you get involved, the more everyone wins, it’s just that simple.

  • You can do this on-site at your business and through your online channels - website and social media channels. Here are some ideas:
  • Apply a campaign poster or sticker to your businesses front door, window or notice board
  • Share the campaign’s digital assets/ photo graphics - adding the Heart + Soul Facebook cover photo to your business’ Facebook page
  • Share the assets we post to our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn channels to your social media channels
  • Add the campaign branding to your website’s homepage
  • Create your own asset - post a photo of yourself at a business you like to visit. Perhaps it’s your next door business neighbour. Use the campaign hashtags and tag the City Renewal Authority’s social channels.
