Experiment: Running path

Experiment: Running path

Haig Park Experiments is installing a chalk-marked running path around the perimeter of the park. Accompanying signage will identify "checkpoints" along the route with QR codes linking to fitness videos demonstrating useful workouts and stretches. Playful signage such as riddles and quizzes will be installed at crossings to entertain runners while they wait for the lights.

Place plan theme: Linkages - ‘To strengthen connections into and within the park.’

Dates: Commencing mid-June

Observation: A large proportion of users are already using Haig Park for running and fitness activities despite limited infrastructure.

Hypothesis: Increased options for running and physical activity can improve the perception of Haig Park as a destination for fitness activities.

Favourable outcome: Increased use of Haig Park and improved public perception.
