Experiment: Seating

Experiment: Seating

Haig Park Experiments is testing a range of outdoor seating options during its events program. In the warmer months, more seating will become available for informal use by park users.

Place plan theme: Infrastructure – ‘To enhance the function and use of the park.’

Date: Will be available at event-based experiments, and in warmer months

Observation: There is limited attractive and flexible seating in Haig Park which limits opportunities for people to visit and stay around.

Hypothesis: More flexible, appropriate, quality seating can enable visitors to remain in the park comfortably. Moveable seating can encourage users to move seating to suit their needs.

Favourable outcome: Increased dwell time, greater enjoyment and improved public perception of Haig Park.
