Experiment: Community Activities

Haig Park Experiments is fostering ongoing capacity building and community ownership of the park through a series of community led events, activities, classes and workshops that will be supported through the Park Caretakers, Art Cart and shared resources from other experiments.

Place plan theme: Cultural Program

Dates: June - October

Observation: There is limited informal use of Haig Park for community-led activities due to lack of infrastructure, awareness of opportunities and support to grow capacity.

Hypothesis: Greater support to connect communities into the park could enable more use for informal activities that will improve amenity, safety and diversity of users.

Favourable outcome: Regular informal community activities take place in Haig Park amplifying the "power of free", contributing to higher footfall, dwell times and improved positive perception.
