About City Grants
The City Renewal Authority’s City Grants is a funding program for eligible organisations, groups and individuals to support place-making projects in Canberra’s city centre.
The primary objective of City Grants is to develop and support the vitality of Canberra’s city centre through place-making.
City Grants is funded by the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy (CCMIL), a fee paid by property owners in the city centre. As a result, all projects funded through the program must occur within the CCMIL area.
How much funding can I apply for?
To support projects of various sizes and scales, City Grants consists of a two tier funding model:
Through Tier 1 grants, applicants can apply for up to $5,000 to support their project. The application process for Tier 1 grants is streamlined with less eligibility requirements for applicants and a shorter application form.
Through Tier 2 grants, applicants can apply for between $5,001 and $80,000 to support applications that will have a demonstrably large impact on the city centre. The application process for Tier 2 grants requires strong evidence of planning.
Before applying for funding please review the 2018 City Grants Program Guidelines.
If you have any questions regarding the City Grants please contact the City Activation Unit, City Renewal Authority on 02 6205 2209 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Prior to applying, it’s recommended that you contact the team.
