On 15 & 16 April 2020 we surprised city businesses with pots of flowers!
The flowers, which brighten the city’s public spaces, are usually offered to the community after each seasonal refresh. However due to COVID-19 restrictions it was not possible to arrange this time around.
Instead, our City Place Manager, Lavanna, dropped off the pots of colour to each business still open and operating in the city centre to brighten their days and ensure the plants could be rehoused. From all reports, businesses were delighted to receive the gesture, which put a smile on their face.
The flower refresh has brought beautiful autumnal colour to the city centre.
We hope city residents, essential workers, frontline workers and people moving about for essential reasons like exercise can enjoy these displays.
