Watch out for wasps

An unwelcome guest at summer barbecues or picnics is the European wasp.

They often build their nests in wall cavities or roof spaces. If you are stung, apply an ice pack to the area. If you experience difficulty breathing after being stung, you may be having a severe allergic reaction and should seek medical attention.

If you find a nest, don’t attempt to remove it yourself. Instead contact the European Wasp Hotline on 6258 5551 for advice. You can also report wasp sightings online at www.ewasp.com.au/
