Bruce cycle path lights the way
Cyclists and pedestrians can now follow the light on a new glow in the dark cycle path adjacent to Purdie Street in Bruce.
The new glow in the dark surface treatment technology is a great alternative to traditional overhead lighting. It is expected to have less interference with the activities of native nocturnal species, but still provide good visual guidance and a safer trip for cyclists at night.
The trial of the path surface will run as long as necessary to allow sufficient time to undertake ecological observations and other assessments including the effects of various weather conditions on the path’s illumination. This analysis will be used to justify the future use of the product around Canberra.
