Canberra kids get active
Over 20,000 students from across 50 primary schools in the ACT have registered to participate in this year’s Active Kids Challenge, which is now underway.
The free eight week challenge aims to encourage healthy habits in children from an early age so that they can enjoy physical activity throughout their lives.
Classroom kits for this year’s Challenge feature a set of Physical Literacy Activity Yearbook classroom resources to help teachers prepare and deliver fun physical education for primary school students during the challenge and throughout the year.
A take home wall chart has also been included to help children to be active at home, which is just as important as being physically active at school to prevent lifestyle related disease later in life.
The 2016 Active Kids Challenge will run during Term 3 from 25 July – 16 September 2016. To register visit the Physical Activity Foundation website.
