Work on converting the former Greenway Fire and Rescue Station into an Ambulance Station is running on schedule.

The new station will provide frontline ambulance staff with a modern fit-for-purpose facility from which they can continue to deliver high quality pre-hospital emergency care to the Tuggeranong community.

The refurbishment work includes:

  • Upgraded electronic direct turn out system for responding for emergencies;
  • new wet areas;
  • Kitchen;
  • Clinical learning and development room;
  • New carpet;
  • Painting throughout; and
  • New locker rooms.

The refurbishment is part of the ESA Station Relocation and Upgrade Program which has also delivered a new Fire and Rescue Station at South Tuggeranong.

The South Tuggeranong Fire & Rescue Station has been open for just under a year now with around 800 responses from the site so far.

The ACT Ambulance Service anticipates it will start operating from the new Greenway site by the end of April 2016.
