Solar support at The Canberra Hospital
The installation of a 500kw solar array on the roof of the Canberra Hospital Southern Car Park, is progressing well, with completion expected in October 2016.
The project will see the installation of 1,900 photovoltaic panels on the roof of the car park, reducing the hospital’s energy consumption by about 800,000kWh each year.
The solar array will have the capacity to start generating electricity from the end of October 2016.
As part of other energy efficiency initiatives being rolled out, LED lighting is also being installed in buildings across the hospital campus.
