Canberra's new learn-to-ride centres
Open now at Lake Ginninderra
Young cyclists in Belconnen now have a new learn-to-ride centre to try at Lake Ginninderra.
The centre is intended for children preschool to year four. It provides a fun environment to learn all the basics from how to safely cross the road, through to independent and confident riding.
There is everything you would expect to see out in our suburbs including foothpaths, roundabouts, pedestrian crossings, line markings and road signs. Other signs with tips and information help children learn about road safety and active travel.
Parents, schools and community groups can use the space to teach children to ride bicycles and practise using footpaths, roundabouts and pedestrian crossings.
The centre is located near the Macdermott Place car park in Belconnen.
The Tuggeranong centre is open now at Greenway Park
Tuggeranong’s Learn to Ride Centre is open now. Give it a try at Greenway Park, adjacent to Mortimer Lewis Drive at Lake Tuggeranong.
The Learn to Ride Centre is located at Lake Ginninderra near the car park off MacDermott Place. Groups can make a booking at the Belconnen centre at www.act.gov.au/learntoride. Families and individuals are welcome to use the centre without prior booking.
