Growing good habits at Monash Primary

Students at Monash Primary School will put their green thumbs to work when a new shared community garden is installed.

The school put a recent Health Promotion Grant towards the initiative that will help to expand the health knowledge of all their students.

The new shared community garden will include an orchard of fruit trees and nutrition education sessions for parents and carers. Students from preschool to Year six can participate in a cooking program to foster an early understanding of where our food comes from and why we need to eat different foods.

The Health Promotion grant provides funds to innovative projects that aim to reduce obesity, reduce smoking and alcohol-related harm, and support healthy ageing in Canberra.
