Australia Day Events 2018

This year, the Great Aussie Day Breakfast will be held at Stage 88 on the lawns at Commonwealth Park at 7.30am. This event is family friendly with kids activities and Dora the Explorer!

At 9am, Canberra will welcome our newest Australian citizens at the National Flag Raising and Citizenship ceremony, hosted at Rond Terraces.

At 4pm, head down to Regatta Point to hear Justice Crew, Canberra band Tuchasoul and pop duo Jess & Matt perform on the concert stage. This event hosts family friendly activities such as jumping castles & face painting at the Patrick White Lawns and Rond Terrace. Food and beverage vendors will also be open at these sites.

At 9pm, the skies above Lake Burley Griffin will be lit up with fireworks. The best vantage points will be from Regatta Point and Patrick White Lawns.

These events and our city are on the land of the Ngunnawal people. We acknowledge their custodianship of the land and commit to ongoing acts of reconciliation with our nation’s first people.
