Green bin collections start this month in Belconnen.

It's not too late for Belconnen residents to register for a green bin.

Pay a one-off fee of $50, with green waste collected every fortnight.

The below concession card holders can receive their bin for free:

  • ACTION Gold Card
  • Department of Veterans' Affairs Gold Card
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card
  • MyWay Seniors Card (for people who are aged 70 years and above)
  • Department of Veterans' Affairs Pension Card

Leaves, grass clippings, weeds, prunings, flowers and small branches can all go into green bins. Avoid contaminating this valuable source of mulch with household garbage, recyclables or plastic bags (including biodegradable or compostable bags).

Green waste collections are already in place across Tuggeranong, Weston Creek and Belconnen. Rollout to the rest of Canberra will begin mid 2019.
