Explore space at the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival
Ever wanted to explore SPACE?
Head along to Canberra’s Heritage Festival this year, where you can learn about our space history and discover the vast spaces of our very own bush capital.
Get your moonwalk ready, because this year’s theme is out of this world. In 2019 we’re exploring ‘SPACE’!
In July the world will celebrate 50 years since man walked on the moon and that footage came from Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station here in the ACT! The 2019 Festival is a great opportunity to discover the ACT’s space history through a number of fun, interactive and inspiring events.
Space is more than ‘outer space’. Walter Burley Griffin said ‘architecture is a space art’. Space can be an expanse, a landscape, a location, a possibility, a vacuum, or a relationship between objects people and places. What does space mean to you?
Find out more about our natural, Aboriginal and built heritage by attending any one of the 200 diverse events across the capital featuring exhibitions, talks, tours, workshops and film screenings. You can even find yourself a retro frock at the fashion markets or learn how to make a vintage cocktail.
Come along between 13 April and 5 May 2019. Bookings are essential for many of the events.
