Higgins and Nicholls Neighbourhood Ovals in north Canberra are been upgraded.

Higgins: Works have started on the Higgins Neighbourhood Oval and will include new irrigation, new turf and a new pavilion.

Works are planned to be complete early 2020.

Nicholls: Sport will continue in rain, hail or shine at Nicholls Neighbourhood Oval with a new synthetic turf set to replace the oval’s existing ageing surface.

New line markings on the oval will mean a greater range of sports can be played on the oval, the existing 300 metre running track will  be replaced and a rubber underlay or shock pad will be installed to help lessen impact on joints and provide better support for users.

The upgrade will be completed in the coming months.
