Canberra's Top Dog Names of 2018
Canberra's most popular dog names for 2018 have been released. Bella and Charlie took the top spots while Max and Ruby followed closely behind. The list was compiled by dog registrations in the ACT.
Responsible pet owners register their dogs
Although microchipping provides an excellent form of identification it is only the first step in registering your dog. Dog registration is compulsory in the ACT and lasts for the lifetime of the dog. Registering and microchipping your dog provides the ACT Government with the information needed to return your dog if it gets lost. All dogs (including guide dogs) must be registered if they are over eight weeks old, they have been kept in the ACT for 28 days or more, or the dog's keeper has been a resident of the ACT for 28 days or more. Yellow registration tags are no longer required.
You can register your dog online by filling out a form on the Access Canberra website. Alternatively, you can visit the Domestic Animal Services in Symonston to register your dog in person. For more information visit the TCCS.gov.au.
