The Sydney Building lit up during the Enlighten Festival.
07 March 2019
Haig Park and the Sydney and Melbourne Buildings will be in the spotlight during Enlighten 2019 as the festival comes to Civic for a second year.
The Northbourne Avenue facades of the Sydney and Melbourne Buildings will be illuminated with the work of Canberra-based artist Hannah Quinlivan from 1-11 March 2019.
Hannah Quinlivan’s artworks are based on her designs for the new light rail stops. The artworks are visually and conceptually interlinked, each drawing on the artist’s observations at specific locations along the light rail route.
Local traders are being encouraged to trade out to take advantage of the newly widened footpaths during the festival, especially on the weekend of 8-9 March, with the added attention the illuminations will bring to these landmark buildings.
