Keep clear of Death Cap mushrooms

Death cap mushrooms have recently been spotted in the ACT. Canberrans are being warned not to touch, pick or eat any wild mushrooms.

Death cap mushrooms are extremely poisonous and hard to identify. Eating even a small amount can be fatal.

If you think you or someone you know has consumed a death cap mushroom, seek urgent medical attention at your nearest hospital emergency department.

Plus, don’t forget to tell your friends or family who are visiting or who are new to Canberra, not to pick or eat any wild mushrooms.
