New sculpture hops into Downer
A new kangaroo sculpture is calling Downer home as part of the revitalisation of the Downer Village Square.
The new sculpture, named Roo Watch, was created by Western Australian artist April Pine. It's a contemporary interpretation of the much-loved bronze kangaroo sculpture that went missing from the former Downer Primary School before its demolition in 2013.
The revitalisation of the Downer Village Square is a great example of government, businesses and the local community creating great places together.
