New home for expanding ESA service

Patient Transport Officers loading a stretcher into an ambulance. Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) is now operating out of Kambah.

A new space has been found for the Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) service, which has seen significant growth in demand year on year.

Patient Transport Officers provide non-emergency patient transport to and from healthcare facilities, clinics and private residences. Currently, NEPT workload accounts for about 20% of the ACT Ambulance Service caseload.

NEPT is now operating out of the the former ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) vehicle workshop at Kambah Station, which has been refurbished to suit its needs.

This section of the service has a strong relationship with ACT Health and will continue to provide the highest quality care for patients across the territory.
