Nurse Amar Sharma.

When Gunghalin Walk-in Centre nurse Amar Sharma heard about the introduction of Canberra’s Walk-in Centres, he decided to study to become a Nurse Practitioner.
"It's satisfying to help Canberrans, particularly those new to Canberra or Australia, navigate our health care system and improve their health literacy," Amar said.
“Walk-in Centres are unique – and they’re such a rewarding place to work. They provide a great result to people with minor injury or illness who can’t see their GP and whose conditions don’t require an emergency department visit.”
You can find Walk-in Centres in Gungahlin, Belconnen, and Tuggeranong. The Weston Creek Walk-in Centre will also open this month, and a fifth Walk-in Centre will open in Dickson in 2020. Services are free, and opening hours are from 7.30am to 10pm daily, including public holidays.
