Stage 2 of the duplication of Gundaroo Drive between Gungahlin Drive and the Barton Highway is progressing. Stage 2 of the duplication of Gundaroo Drive between Gungahlin Drive and the Barton Highway is progressing.

Detailed design work will soon get underway to duplicate the final 4.5-kilometre unduplicated section of William Hovell Drive.

The section is between Drake Brockman Drive and John Gorton Drive.

The road duplication will support the growing regions of Molonglo Valley and West Belconnen. There will also be on-road cycle lanes and off-road shared paths included in the detailed design.

Meanwhile, Stage 2 of the duplication of Gundaroo Drive between Gungahlin Drive and the Barton Highway is progressing with work now underway between Gungahlin Drive and Nudurr Drive.

Four lanes have already opened between Nudurr Drive and the Barton Highway, with Stage 2 on track for completion in mid-2020.

Work will also get underway soon on safety improvements to the Monaro Highway between Royalla Drive and Williamsdale Road.

Construction will start soon on an approximately two-kilometre northbound overtaking lane along with a left turn slip lane at the intersection of the Monaro Highway and Old Cooma Road.

Design work has also begun for safety improvements and intersection upgrades at key locations on the Monaro Highway from Johnson Drive through to the Alexander Maconochie Centre.
