New laws for displaying fuel prices

Man pumping petrol in his car. New laws will prevent service stations from advertising discounted fuel prices in the ACT.

Changes to ACT law are now in place to prevent service stations from advertising discounted fuel prices on their price boards.

This means Canberra drivers won't need to pay more than the price displayed when filling up.

Discount schemes such as four cents off per litre can still be advertised, however the price displayed must be the full price available to all drivers.

If you see a fuel price board displaying a discounted fuel price, or a fuel price that is lower than the price at the pump, report it to Access Canberra on 13 22 81.
