NightFest brings big lights and names to Canberra

Flowers at Nighfest in Commonwealth Park. Explore Floriade's dark side at NightFest this spring, when Commonwealth Park is transformed into an illuminated playground.

NightFest is back in 2019, giving visitors a chance to dabble in Floriade's dark side.

NightFest returns to Commonwealth Park from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 October. The illuminated playground showcases a 'World in Bloom' with giant interactive lighting installations, pop-up performances, markets, and cuisines from around the world.

The park will come alive with lights illuminating flowerbeds and two interactive lighting installations, created by internationally-renowned lighting specialists, Mandylights.

Set in the Rhododendron Garden, one of the lighting installations, Framed, features a series of 20 towering picture frames, covered in thousands of pixels of LED lights creating a stunning tunnel.

NightFest will also see some big names headline Stage 88 including The Veronicas, Busby Marou and Electric Fields.

Sunday night will see the return of Canberra's favourite Comedy NightFest with back-to-back laughs featuring Urzila Carlson, Dave Hughes, Becky Lucas, Anthony Tomic, Sam Taunton, Guy Montgomery and The Stevenson Experience.
