New advice service for young Canberra workers

Young workers in Canberra will be provided with more career support and advice with the launch of Canberra's first Young Workers Advice Service.

The service provides free and confidential advice to workers aged 25 years and under. Young workers will be able to get trusted information about their workplace rights and entitlements through a range of face-to-face and online methods.

The Young Workers Advice Service includes:

  • a dedicated website with education materials
  • a dedicated phone service
  • a full-time support coordinator
  • pop-up outreach services at locations and events catered towards young people.

Canberra is home to nearly 60, 000 people aged between 15 and 24 years, making a service like this important to assist and advise young Canberrans and improve their rights and safety.
