Emergency services recruits are in training to keep the Canberra community safe.

25 February 2020

18 ACT Fire & Rescue recruits have begun an intensive 21-week training course to become Canberra’s newest firefighters.

The training course will prepare the recruits for the day-to-day challenges of being a firefighter in the ACT and to work as a team alongside other emergency services staff.

The recruits will graduate in July 2020.

Eight paramedicine interns are receiving first-hand experience, with the commencement of this year’s ACT Ambulance Service internship program. They are undertaking intensive training and assessment to ensure they’re equipped with the skills and knowledge they need for the future.
