The ESA website will publish updates related to bushfires during the State of Alert.
10 January 2020
With bushfires and smoke haze currently in the surrounding region, it is important to follow the advice of emergency services and to keep up to date on changing conditions.
Please monitor the Emergency Services Agency website (www.esa.act.gov.au) and follow ACT ESA on Facebook and Twitter for updates on what you need to do, what our emergency services staff are doing, and how the conditions are impacting on our community.
The current State of Alert in the ACT means, as a community, we must be prepared.
If you haven’t yet completed your Bushfire Survival Plan, please download a copy and take 20 minutes with your family to discuss what you’ll do during a fire.
Completing the plan will help protect the lives of your family and assist you in preparing your home to survive the threat of a bushfire.
The plan is just four simple steps: DISCUSS – PREPARE – KNOW – KEEP
A guide to developing a Bushfire Survival Plan can be found here.
For air quality monitoring and the latest advice on caring for yourself and your family when smoke is present, please visit the ACT Health website.
You’ll also find guidance there on looking after your mental health and wellbeing during the bushfire crisis.
Please call Triple Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire. For updates on bushfires in the ACT check the ESA Incidents Map or download the NSW Fires Near Me app.
