Students starting in Year 4 at Franklin Early Childhood School this year are part of the school’s transition to its new status as a preschool to year 6 primary school.

The continuing expansion delivers an additional 400 places for students to meet the needs of the growing Gungahlin community.

The expansion plans include:

  • the construction of new permanent school buildings
  • a new multi-purpose community hall/gymnasium
  • hard courts marked for a variety of sports, including basketball, netball, tennis and volleyball
  • upgrades to the landscaping
  • additional carparking

The new permanent learning and community spaces will be ready for use in 2021 and aim to retain the great features of the early childhood school model.

The school has been meeting the current needs of the growing population through high quality transportable classrooms, which will be removed once the permanent buildings are completed in 2021.
