School boy receiving a vaccination.

Consent cards for school vaccinations will be sent home early in the school year.

28 January 2020

Free vaccinations are offered to all Canberra students in Years 7 and 10 to keep them, their families and our community healthy by reducing the spread of preventable diseases.

Consent cards for school vaccinations will be sent home early in the school year for parents and guardians to sign. Make sure you find, sign and return the consent cards – even if you or your child do not consent to the immunisation.

Year 7 students will be vaccinated against four diseases: human papillomavirus (HPV), diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough, while Year 10 students are offered the Meningococcal ACWY vaccine, which protects against four different strains of the meningococcal bacteria.
