Tikarra Looke has been recognised for her work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Indigenous Education Officer Tikarra Looke has worked tirelessly to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, histories, cultures and stories are part of learning at Kingsford Smith School in Holt.
Tikarra was recognised for Leadership in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education at the 2019 ACT Public Education Awards. Her work has involved finding scholarships and grants for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and advocating for Indigenous student voices at school events and celebrations.
She also leads the Cultural Integrity Committee to ensure that resources and support are available for ACT public school teachers as they work to include the cross-curriculum priority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures.
