The community is recognising health professionals like these Canberra Hospital nurses during the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
13 May 2020
‘During these exceptionally difficult times, we feel better knowing you are there for our unwell and vulnerable. Thank you for the sacrifices you make every single day.’
This feedback from the family of a former Canberra Hospital patient is just one example of messages being shared with nurses and midwives this week to acknowledge their service.
We’re marking International Day of the Midwife and International Day of the Nurse during May, in the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
What better time to let our health professionals know what a difference they have made to our lives than by reading to them – sharing lovely messages from former patients.
Canberra Health Services (CHS) has filmed some of these moments to share on its social media channels, and it’s a joy to see the faces of these men and women as they hear feedback like:
‘You’re amazing. Nurses are amazing. You’re doing great things, and always with a smile. Very uplifting. Keep doing it.’
‘They’ll always be in my heart and provided something so much more than clinical care.’
‘Where would we be without you? Your skills and dedication, your love and warmth, your humour and kindness, your support.’
‘You and all nurses are angels, and thank God we have a medical system that provides your wonderful service.’
