ACT State Emergency Services Crews have been busy keeping Canberrans connected.

With schools in the ACT now delivering classes online as a result of COVID-19, more students are ready to connect thanks to ACT State Emergency Services crews.

With the start of online learning for Term 2 fast approaching, the Education Directorate contacted ACT Emergency Services Agency to see if they were available to help with some important deliveries to ACT students’ households.

About 20 dongles, provided by the ACT Government, were delivered by the SES to students and their families, with deliveries primarily in the Tuggeranong, Woden and Belconnen areas.

The dongles being delivered were for students and families who require internet access for online learning, but do not currently have internet at home.

ESA ensured the dongles were delivered so the students had access to the internet and could continue to learn and remain connected with their existing classmates and teachers.

An ACTSES team of a driver and co-driver collected the dongles from a central point at Stirling and received a briefing to guarantee all precautions were taken in regard to COVID-19.
