
Final designs for playground upgrades in Ngunnawal, Chisholm, Gordon, and Aranda have been released.

Work is progressing on playground upgrades throughout Canberra suburbs as part of the ACT’s largest ever suburban infrastructure program.
Following community feedback in 2022, the final designs for playground upgrades in Ngunnawal, Chisholm, Gordon and Aranda have been released.
There are also updates on the progress of three other Canberra playgrounds.
Gungahlin
- Burrumarra Avenue playground in Ngunnawal will receive a range of new equipment including climbing structures and slides, complemented by accessible play equipment.
- In Casey, procurement is underway for a construction contractor to deliver the new community recreation park which includes play equipment for all abilities and a multi-purpose court for different sports.

Belconnen
- Aranda’s Banambila Street playground design includes a new fitness station for all ages, a junior fort and central nature play area.
- The community will soon be able to have their say on the preliminary designs for upgrades to the playground on Wakool Crescent in Kaleen.

Tuggeranong
- The Alston Street playground in Chisholm will receive a new basketball hoop and refurbished backboard as well as a new nature play area which includes climbing and accessible equipment and a nest swing.
- The Point Hut Pond playground in Gordon will be upgraded with a new nature play area featuring boulders, scramble nets and balance elements.

The Ngunnawal, Aranda, Chisholm and Gordon playground upgrades will include Ngunnawal cultural artwork and themes.
Construction procurement is underway with construction expected to start later this year.
Work is also progressing on a new destination playground in the inner north with the next stage of design underway.
