$70m new funding for climate and the environment

Climate action

Faced with a changing climate, enhancing our environmental resilience is crucial and it is essential that more vulnerable members of the community are not left behind. The ACT Government is rolling out the five-year $150 million Sustainable Household Scheme to provide zero interest loans for households and not-for-profit community organisations to meet the up-front costs of investing in climate action infrastructure or vehicles.

We will continue our work to increase the proportion of zero-emission vehicles through free registration and increasing the number of charging stations, and we will commence our $50 million Vulnerable Household Energy Support Scheme to improve thermal comfort and reduce energy hardship among vulnerable households.
