The community is recognising health professionals during International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.

The awards recognise the role ACT's top nurses and midwives play in the health and wellbeing of our community.

A new Inner North Walk-in Centre will be added to the Dickson Community Health Centre.

Once open, the Inner North Walk-in Centre will offer free health care for minor injuries and illnesses.

The Short Stay Unit has already made a difference to the management of patients through the system.

Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo residents are enjoying access to free health care at Canberra’s newest Walk-in Centre.

By starting these preparation works now, it’s expected the site will be ready for construction to begin on the main facility in 2021.

The ward’s design was informed by suggestions from patients, their families and staff.

While there is a small number of confirmed cases in Australia, there are no confirmed cases in the ACT as of 7 February 2020.

All Canberrans are being advised to avoid physical activity outside during periods of heavy smoke haze and heat.

Take care of yourself and those around you during periods of extreme heat.

Canberra’s newest nurse-led Walk-in Centre is now open within the existing Community Health Centre next to Cooleman Court at Weston.
