Commentary
In 2018, the majority of respondents to the ACT General Health Survey aged 18 years and over met the physical activity guideline for adults (72.9%).
Note: The indicator shows self-reported data collected through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI). Estimates were weighted to adjust for differences in the probability of selection among respondents and were benchmarked to the estimated residential population using the latest available Australian Bureau of Statistics population estimates.
Meeting the physical activity guideline is based on the ABS definition: For persons aged 18 years and over to have met these guidelines, they must have participated in at least 150 minutes of activity (including walking for transport and fitness, and moderate and vigorous activity). For the purpose of this measure, minutes spent on vigorous activity is multiplied by a factor of two. If number of times for walking, moderate activity or vigorous activity was zero, the number of hours and minutes was given a value of zero.
