An ACT Government Website

This page has information for immunisation providers about ordering vaccines.

The Vaccine Management Unit delivers government funded vaccines to immunisation providers monthly based on the provider’s delivery schedule.  Delivery schedules are allocated and displayed on the providers delivery calendar.

If you need another delivery calendar, phone the Vaccine Management Unit on 02 5124 9800.

Vaccine orders must be received at least two days prior to scheduled delivery.

How to become a National Immunisation Program vaccine provider in the ACT

To register to become a National Immunisation Program (NIP) vaccine provider you must complete this online form.

You are also required to have an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) number and record all vaccines administered to the AIR. If you do not have an AIR number, fill in this form on the Services Australia website and follow the instructions on the form to return it.

Order forms

To order vaccines complete the online vaccine order form or fill out and return the following forms:

You can also order immunisation information related resources by completing the Immunisation Resources Order Form.

Non-scheduled deliveries

Non-scheduled deliveries may take up to 10 business days.

Non-scheduled orders are sorted and delivered in the order they are received. Order forms can be emailed to immunisation@act.gov.au or faxed to 02 51249307.

If an order is not received from a practice for their scheduled delivery, the Vaccine Management Unit will visit to carry out cold chain monitoring and inventory, but no vaccines will be delivered.

Stock management

A rule of thumb for ordering vaccines is the number of vaccines used in the previous month plus 10% of current stock on hand.

Prior to ordering any vaccines you will be asked to confirm you agree that:

  • all vaccines will be stored in accordance with the National Vaccine Storage Guidelines Strive for 5
  • any temperature breaches outside of the recommended range of +2 to +8°C will be immediately notified to the ACT Health Vaccine Management Unit
  • all funded vaccines will only be administered to eligible persons as advised in the National Immunisation Program or ACT Government Program
  • all vaccines administered will be recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register

Your first influenza vaccine delivery of the season will be a set amount determined by the Vaccine Management Unit to ensure all providers receive a base stock. Further stock can be ordered with your monthly order.
