An ACT Government Website

There are more than 70 notifiable conditions in the ACT. Under the Public Health Act 1997, the Chief Health Officer (CHO) must be informed of any known cases of these diseases.

Certain groups of people must notify the CHO of any person who they believe may have a notifiable condition. This includes:

  • doctors
  • authorised nurse practitioners
  • pathologists
  • hospital managers
  • people responsible for the care, counselling, support or education of a person who they believe may have a notifiable condition.

To report any cases, download the report of notifiable disease or related death form.
