Molonglo’s first high school is officially ready for the 2023 school year.
The Evelyn Scott School senior campus adjoins the junior campus, which opened with 650 preschool to year 6 students in 2021.
The school incorporates award-winning sustainability features with state-of-the-art learning environments.
Boasting indoor and outdoor learning spaces, inclusive learning environments, great outdoor play areas and secure bicycle storage, the senior campus will accommodate up to 600 year 7 to 10 students from Denman Prospect, Wright, Coombs, Whitlam and Molonglo.
The school won the ACT Master Builders Association (MBA) Award, 2022 Sustainable Commercial Project Award for its sustainability-focused design, including its outdoor 1,600m2 of nylon surface hardcourts made from recycled plastics.
“It is an honour to be the principal of Molonglo’s first high school here at Evelyn Scott,” school principal Jackie Vaughan said.
“We know that there is a lot of interest from local students and families in this high school and we can’t wait to get started in 2023.”
The addition of the senior campus completes the $70 million Evelyn Scott School integrating with the existing junior campus, creating a preschool to Year 10 school to accommodate more than 1200 students.
More information about the Evelyn Scott School is available on the school’s website.
