Football fans can come together and get behind the Matildas live in Garema place.

Canberrans will be able to cheer on the Matildas at a free public screening in Garema place as they play-off for third place of the FIFA Women's World Cup. The Aussies will play against Sweden this Saturday, 19 August with the game kicking off at 6pm.

Canberrans love their football and are great supporters of women’s sport. This is an opportunity to join with other football fans and enjoy all the buzz and community spirit of the Women’s World Cup.

  • What: The Matildas v Sweden - FIFA Women's World Cup, third place play-off.
  • When: Saturday, 19 August, 5pm ready for kick off at 6pm.
  • Where: Garema Place

There will be limited seats available; you are welcome to bring your own chairs.

There will be toilets, first aid and security on site.

Food and beverage
  • Food and beverage will be available from the local cafes and restaurants around Garema Place.
  • You can also bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Please note: alcohol is not permitted.

Thanks to the University of Canberra who have been hosting Canberrans for Watch Parties during the Group matches.
