The new 26 turbine windfarm will provide enough electricity to power 71,000 households each year.

The Berrybank Stage 2 wind farm, located in Victoria’s Western Plains, is now in operation.

The farm is one of 13 large scale renewable energy generators that are spread across the country. These generators provide the ACT with zero emissions energy at low prices, strengthening the ACT’s commitment to 100 per cent renewable electricity.

The new 26 turbine windfarm can generate 390GWh of clean energy per year, which is enough electricity to power 71,000 households.

As fossil fuels are phased out and the ACT’s population grows, the new wind farm will help power an all-electric Canberra.

Policy decisions and the addition of renewable sources like the Berrybank 2 windfarm ensures that the Canberra community has continued access to affordable energy, now and into the future.
