Part of Cooleman Court is set to receive a new look with a construction tender now released for upgrades to the Weston Creek group centre.

Brierly Street, the centre’s main street, will benefit from additional trees, improved landscaping and more space for outdoor dining. Improvements will also be made to ensure the safety of pedestrians on the busy street.

Construction is expected to begin in May this year.

Improvements to Brierly Street include the following:

  1. Wider verges, allowing space for outdoor cafes and public outdoor furniture
  2. An enhanced streetscape with new plantings and landscaping
  3. Increased amenity, including new seating, bike racks and rubbish bins
  4. Improved safety for pedestrians with new pedestrian crossings and lighting improvements.

The works are part of the ACT Government’s program for upgrades to suburban infrastructure across Canberra.

They follow recently completed shop upgrades at Kaleen, with significant improvements soon to be completed at Duffy and Campbell local shops.
