The 2025–26 ACT Budget will invest in community infrastructure in the Molonglo Valley, Weston Creek and Woden.
As the region expands, so too does the need for local facilities. This investment will help meet the residents’ needs, now and into the future.
Better footpaths and safer streets
There will be footpath improvements across Woden and Weston Creek.
Upgraded lighting will improve safety and visibility.
Active travel infrastructure will be upgraded across the region. There will be better line marking and completed missing links to better connect paths.
Revitalised local shops
The public spaces around Mawson Group Centre will be upgraded.
Improved pedestrian access and landscaping will make it an even better place to visit and support local businesses.
Investing in sport and recreation
Female-friendly changeroom upgrades will be carried out at playing fields in:
- Mawson
- Phillip
- Hughes.
North Curtin playing fields will receive changeroom and toilet upgrades.
This work is part of ACT-wide investment in inclusive sports facilities. It will help create spaces where everyone feels welcome, supported and inspired to participate.
There will also be improved lighting at Waramanga oval.
UC Stromlo Forest Park Tracks and Trails
The Budget will support Stage 1 of the Stromlo Forest Park Tracks and Trails Master Plan, including new trails and signage.
This will ensure the park continues to offer new experiences for mountain bikers and other users.
The Budget will also progress early works for major community precincts like the Molonglo Town Centre and Stromlo Forest Park.
This support will help ensure community infrastructure keeps pace with growth in the region.
