No matter what time of the day it is, we believe there is always time for a sweet treat. Thankfully Canberra is home to many amazing and popular cafes and bakeries serving up delicious pastries like cinnamon scrolls!

We put the call out on the @weareCBR Instagram page to find Canberrans’ favourite places to get a cinnamon scroll, roll or bun.

Here are the results.

South Canberra

The Pialligo Bakesmith, Pialligo

The Pialligo Bakesmith’s famous cinnamon buns have been described as yummy, fluffy, tasty and well worth the hype! They were the top-voted cinnamon bun in the poll.

The menu even features French toast that is served on a cinnamon bun. Could there be a more perfect combination?

Under Bakery, Fyshwick & Mawson

You’ll find Under Bakery in two locations on the southside, and you’ll want to make sure you check them out.

Often sold out before closing time, the Under cinnamon bun is the perfect mix of sweet, flaky and delicious.

North Canberra

Sweet Bones, Scullin

Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, but prefer a vegan option? Lucky for you, Sweet Bones is serving up an entirely vegan menu, which includes an unbelievably delicious cinnamon scroll.

Their 'sinner bun' is fluffy, topped with a tangy cream cheese type of frosting, and made with lots of love.

The Mitchell Bakehouse, Mitchell

The Mitchell Bakehouse serves all the sweet treats your heart could ever desire, but the cinnamon rolls are really where they step it up. They offer various variations throughout the year.

They even have a sticky cinnamon bun cheesecake – need we say more?

Le Bon Mélange Café Pâtisserie, Gungahlin

Looking for a slice of Europe right here in Canberra? Le Bon is a local fave.

Their signature cinnamon bun usually causes a line out the door on the weekends, but it’s worth the wait.

Freed.Me, Gungahlin

Gungahlin’s new, completely gluten-free café is a long-awaited dream for many Canberrans.

Not only do they serve one of the few gluten-free cinnamon scrolls available, but they are also nut and soy free.

Did someone say flavoured cinnamon buns?

Wildflour offers everything from a regular cinnamon scroll, all the way to Biscoff, pistachio and more!  Some look too good to be true.

Although not technically in Canberra, Clementine Bakery is a favourite in some of our neighbouring towns.

Make the trip out past Canberra for these amazing cinnamon knots – they are worth the drive.

Smelly Buns, online

Supporting local small businesses has never been tastier! Baked fresh and homemade, these speciality cinnamon rolls have probably been all over your news feed.

You can order from an ever-changing menu and have these delicious goodies delivered right to your door! Previous flavours include sticky date pudding, tiramisu and blueberry cheesecake.

Cocoa and Crumb, online & at markets

Have you walked past some amazing-looking cinnamon buns at a Canberra market? Chances are they were from Cocoa and Crumb.

Keep an eye on their Instagram account to see which markets they will be at and make sure you head there straightaway to devour their cinnamon buns.
